Got it.
picked up my ccw permit today. good for 5 years. they said they had been trying to call me for many weeks but there weren't no messages on my answering machine. Now I can go pick up the Ruger LCP I've already paid for.

Here in Florida they have been good for 5yrs, but as of July 08, it is now 7 yrs.

Good Deal!
I just got mine here in Texas at the begining of this year. The more of us that have them, the more crime rates will go down... I think. If 50% or more people are carring, the more likely a burgler will have to think twice....

I agree. And when justification-of-lethal-force laws and Castle Doctrines are passed that allow a law abiding person to protect themselves "anywhere they are lawfully allowed to be" the criminals will take note that their vocation can be hazardous to their health.
