Any info/truth?
Thanks,

Depends on the condition, year made, original parts etc. CMP is out of the surplus as of right now so you would have to find one from and individual or gun show. The guys at the shows usually want more than they are worth. I usually keep my Blue Book up to date and use that as a reference. When CMP had them that was they way to go.

I picked mine up from the CMP and they said that was the last significant shipment they will ever get. I'm not sure what significant means but the price has gone up quite a bit since. Same goes for the M1 Garand. Look at the M1 Garand prices.
I'm an avid collector of WWII rifles and the prices have gone up sharply on most all of the surplus stuff.
This list if incomplete but here is some of my rifles.

The joy of cleaning up those CMP rifles loaded with cosmoline. That was always the best part of getting one...

I have 17 M1 Garands in my collection. 5 of them are unique enough that if somebody offered my $12k for the 5, I'd turn it down.

Vindex just out of curiosity are you not interested in any of the carbines CMP is offering now? I know they have sold out of the decent Inlands and Winnies but they have some others coming up in the future. Of course they have some rack grades left but my experiences with rack grade Garands is they needed TLC so I only bought the service grades. I have 1 excellent Inland I got back in the 60s and that was enough carbines for me.

Vin,

+1 what strick said. I bought a couple. Asked for shooters for the games and got great barrels both times. Being close enough, I've made more than a few trips to the North store too. If you ever get the chance, you won't be sorry. Esp. if you go during Perry.
