Natchez Trace & CHL

I looked and couldn't find my question's answer.

I am going on a tour ,by myself,in May from Texas up the east side of Oklahoma. Then into Arkansas for whatever time it takes to see those great roads.

From Arkansas I was thinking of riding the Natchez Trace from south to north.
I found the website for The Trace. It says :
"Hunting and the possession of loaded firearms are prohibited".

Texas-Mississippi-Alabama-Tennessee-Oklahoma-Arkansas all recognize each other's CHL.

Where do I stand with my CHL/Handgun on The Trace being a National Park Service property ???

Do I have a problem with carrying in National Forests ?

my guess is that you are not in trouble unless you get stopped by the Park Police.

Firearms are illegal to carry on the Trace because it is a designated National Park Service Road.

It's a great ride and about the only danger you would encounter would be deer and turkeys...oh and the occasional rice burner on the wrong side of the road.

BTW.............in case you don't know the entire Trace speed limit is 50 MPH and outside of Nashville it hits 45 MPH..........but the scenery is great!!!!

davidtn - If I had a ridin' buddy like yours I wouldn't have ever gotten a CHL.

kevsett - Thanks for all those links. They got me going down the right path on figuring out when/where you can/can't carry in different States.
In Texas there are few places you can't.Really glad to get informed on all differences between each State.

David hit it dead on about the National Parks. That is about the only constant. No carrying concealed in National Parks,PERIOD.
G.W.Bush has them working on that though. To get the Park Service to treat CHL like they do in the National Forest.NF policy on CHL is determined by each State.

The statement about 'unloaded' on The Trace got me to give them a call.
If you have your ammo boxes and speed loads in one saddlebag and your handguns unloaded in the other - your cool.

Thanks y'all for the help on this !!!
