Glock Mini 40/Model 27
Anybody got one?...I have a chance to pick one up, mint condition with 5 mags, two holsters for $325.00. Seems like a pretty good deal, anybody got any experience with one?

That's a good deal, IMO. I have one....too much recoil (light weight, small frame) to shoot as a fun gun, but a great defensive gun.

I have one too, but I decided to go with a model 23 instead. The 27 is a nice gun and fuctions well but even with the extended grip on the mag as soon as you fire one round your grip will shift and follow up shots are not as easy.
Also since the grip is short in the waistband without a good holster has a tendancy to slip down your pants. So a good holster is a must. I have a Milt Sparks IWB. Can't recall model off hand but its their top of the line. But I don't carry the 27 even with that.
Model 23 is night and day, don't need a holster and don't lose grip on followup shots either, it can also be converted to a 357 sig by barrel change if the 40 recoil seems a bit much for your liking.
Only reason I haven't sold my 27 is my wife likes it next to the bed. Theres a lot of good stuff on that gun but once you start firing it and carring it you might find that you wish you would have gone to a compact 23 instead of sub compact 27 Just my opinion

$325 for a glock 27 in good condition is a good buy...but as has been said it is NOT a fun gun...
when I lived in Phoenix I carried one 7X24 for 12 years...love hate relationship...hate the gun-its ugly,no class,terrible trigger,lots a recoil...
Loved the fact that every time I pulled the trigger it went BANG with a 170 grain bullet at 1000 plus FPS...few people will get up with a well placed shot...(as a former competition shooter I shot a LOT NEVER had a jam or hickup)
I still grab it when I go for a ride...If you can handle the recoil it makes a GREAT DEFENCE GUN
Good Luck

I have been looking for one to go with my model 23. I would jump all over that deal and buy it before the seller changes their mind.
That is a great price.

What Trooper said is right on. The extended grip is a must.

Do any of you that have shot the G27 have any experience shooting the G30 or G36? I'm interested in perceived recoil comparisons to the G27.

I'm not familiar with the 30 or 36. If they are the 9mm or 45 cal, both of them have less recoil in the larger frame models. I'm sure that probably holds true with the smaller frame models.

I realize you asked about the comparison. I don't have a 27 but carry my 30 daily. I have carried and have others but this is my go favorite. Accurate, easy to handle (especially follow up shots) and dependable. The only draw back is if you have small hands the double stack mag makes the grip large. 36 is cool also but I prefer 10 rds to 6 in a 45 compact. If in doubt go to a range that rents and try different models.

I never read of a bad guy telling police with his dying breath that he was shot by a home owner who used a no class ugly gun that he hated, 'cause it had a terrible trigger and lot's of recoil!

That is why I STILL USE IT FOR A CARY GUN...
I have a nice series 70 gold cup for class... and my custom built race gun (1.5 # trigger)for speed...a 12 gauge for must stop...a mini 14 to reach out and touch some one...
all guns have a use ...we must pick what is right for us...
Good Luck

Yup....every person who carries has to decide what the right gun is for him/her factoring in numerous variables. I, too, choose different guns based on the likely/possible need at the time, concealability and shootability.

I had one and really liked it. Did not use the extended mag becuase I wore it in a ankle holster. Too heavy for that. Also too heavy to carry in a coat jacket. So that leaves inside your belt. I qualified with it... Takes practice but you can get pretty good with it. I liked the way it shot. BUT I went with something more concealable. I went with the Kel-Tec 3AT and a Kahr PM 40....

You're right.....though I qualified with it, it is pretty heavy and kicks. I do have the mag extension for better gripping. For ultralight/ultrasmall carry, I carry a Seecamp .32 ACP (now also made in .380 ACP). For larger, though still very light carry, I carry a S&W 342 J-frame hammerless revolver using Scandium frame material.

Buy it immediately. That price is at least $100 below going price. Mags are a bonus.
