Have you dried out yet from the flood run?

Looks like another few days of fine riding in our area. Damn, will this stuff ever stop?

Wish you woulda PM'd me...Sorry I didn't get to this...theres usually little activity down here...or the action is more geared towards our twin cities brothers...so I haven't checked in for a while.

As bad as that flood run was, it may be the one I remember best in the future oddly enough. It took some work with a tea light candle to get the zippers on my leathers working right again. My father in laws Red Wing boots took a couple weeks wear to stretch back out and re breakin...and like you said, more lousy weather.

I don't know whats worse though, the actual rain or the forecasts with a high probability for rain. For the last four days I haven't ridden my bike as the forecast has routinely had 40-70% chance for rain listed....only we haven't gotten a drop...just gray, gloomy, threatening skies. Summers got to come soon.

I got out for a little over 500 miles memorial day weekend....and despite the lousy weather, I've managed to accumulate a little over 2000 miles this season already.

So do you attend any of the local rallies? I would like to go to Geneva again next weekend but I have a wedding I'm attending in Iowa. My O.L. b-day is July 1st and she's not interested in going to Algona...so I doubt I'll make that one. It'd be nice to meet some of the fellow members from the forum here and put some faces with the names....Maybe Deb will get something organized this year.

Long winded, I know...but what else do I have to do while I wait for the weather to clear? Thanks for asking

Clay

No problem, figured you would wander down that way eventually.

Drying out from the flood run was certainly something special. It did motivate me to do an upgrade in the rain gear so I should be covered the next time I get into a mess like that.

Your right, not too much action from down our way, seems most of the get togethers are taking place up in the cities.

I would be up with a meet to put names and faces together. I am always looking for an excuse to head off into a new direction.

I haven't attended too many of the local rallies although that is something I am wanting to do more of this year. Most of the people I ride with don't do the rally stuff. Seems we all just load up and head off somewhere for a ride.

A couple of us have been talking about doing the June Jam which takes place the 18th of June, but we haven't committed to doing that for sure just yet.

The only rally that is currently on my schedule is the Beartooth out in Red Lodge the middle of July. That looks like it will be some interesting riding out there and I am taking some time while I am there to tour around that part of the country as well.

Not going to hang at the State Hog rally this year, instead several of us are going to ride to the J&P open house then over to some of the river towns on the Illinois side.

Hopefully some decent riding weather will arrive soon or a lot of people are going to be upset, for whatever that will be worth.

I will keep an eye out in this section in case a meet get setup for sometime this year.

If you and the OL get through the area and have a thrist that needs to be taken care of, give me a shout and maybe we can hook up and I can take care of that for you.

Geez, I am getting long winded too.

So when is that J&P open house? I saw coverage of last years event on Corbin's Ride ON on the speed channel some time back. Looked like a good time and I haven't made it down that way in Iowa yet. Closest I came was going down to Des Moines a couple times. BTW if you haven't seen Des Moines HD yet, you gotta get there. Its the only dealership I've seen that looks like a barn from the outside and the different families of bikes are laid out in their own horse stalls. Probably the coolest dealership I've been to.

The J&P open house is the 25th of June.

Looks like it should be a fun event. Assuming of course that our friend the stays away for a weekend.

The HD dealer in Des Moine sounds worthy of a visit. Will have to check it out one of these weekends.

Legacy H-D in Effingham, IL just built a new dealership and they went with the whole barn theme, also.
