Favorite Indiana Destinations

Hey there,

My wife and I are new Hoosier riders, and wondering if some of the more experienced riders could share some of their favorite destinations around the Hoosier state. I like to eat, some favorite dining stops would be great too! We were recently in Corydon, before we got the bike, and took a drive down SR 62 along the Ohio, and stopped at the Lookout Restaurant. That would be a suggestion I would give, we hope to make it back on the bike sometime.

Talking indiana rides

I live in northern Indiana up by lake Michigan, one great /fun ride is to go around the lake through Indiana,Michigan,Illinois,Wisconsin.
This is real nice in fall too. The other ride is to Brown county.
Have fun:

Hi,
A couple of my favorites are the Covered Bridges in Parke County Indiana and Indiana State Highway 135 leading into Nashville, IN from Highway US 50.

My favorite place is Dancers Showclub on the West Side of Indy, about 5 miles away. Great scenery! Tell them "Dollar Dance Tony" sent you!

So the wife and I rode to Batesville this evening, took 52 to 229 and into Batesville. If you're looking for a road that is almost all curves, tryout 229 between 52 and Batesville. SR 52 is being re-paved right now though, that kind of stunk....

Here is a good day ride for you. Ride up to Kersting's HD and see their MC museum. They have a great collection. Ride over and loop lake at Culver Military Academy and then back to Indy.

Next time, for a two day trip, try the Auburn Cord Dusenberg Museum at Auburn, IN. I'll think of more after a while.

You said you like to eat - couple of suggestions, In Auburn try Mad Anthony's Tap Room north of the courthouse square. Eclectic menu.If you go to Shipshewana the Blue Gate restaurant is good or go west on US 20 about eight miles to Middlebury and try Das Dutchman Essenhaus. Good Amish cookin' and fresh pies. If you leave hungry you didn't order.

Cool Link, worth checking out....

Found this link, shows good motorcycle roads all over indiana, split up by region. Riders can post ratings of the roads, turn types, etc. Worth checking out...

SR 450 between Shoals and Bedford. It's, IMO, the best 28 miles of motorcycling in the state. Of course, you'll want to turn around and come back making it 56 miles!

Not much up in the northern part, unless you enjoy corn fields. Michigan has a better view. helmet sucks tho...
