Just starting to ride again after a 15 year hiatus. I try to get out in the evenings a few nights a week and am looking for some biker friendly spots to visit. Most of the places I used to go to are long gone or are fern bars and such. Diners or bars are fine, I'm not looking to get blasted, just looking for a destination that feels comfortable when I am out and where I am likely to run into other riders.

I know there are some Northern Indiana guys on the board. Maybe they'll chime in with something accross the border for you.

On Sundays the Grove is a great place to ride to. Its at 82th and Kean ave in Willow Springs... Take rte. 45 south to 87th streat go east one light and go north 5 blocks its on the west side of street. On a nice Sunday there are between 100- 200 bikes and if you get there before noon theye have free steak and potatoes you just have to cook them yourself. It has a big parking lot and you can drink and smoke in the lot. Most "Hooters" restaurants are biker friendly as well.
