R&R 131 t/c dyno
A while back we did a 131 on stock cases with ductile cylinders. Well long story short without a doubt we crossed the line on stock cases. A new HD case that will now be nice to hold a plant in my office, and two iron door stops
SO before any one says well these numbers are low and you can get more power. Understand this, making max power was not the goal at all. The customer wanted a a very streetable , big inch engine that would run on 89 octane fuel in high heat without issue. Start up easy, cruise, and still have a massive amount of power on tap when he wanted it.
The engine is a R&R 131, this is built on there new t/c billet case, round port heads, engine is a square set up 4 3/8 X 4 3/8 , 62 HPI intake 6.0 injectors, there billet cam plate and cover set, S&S 640 cam, and compression was set at 10.5 CCP comes in at 175
Thus far there are 3 of these engine built, the first two where done at R&R and now this one. The bike is a pure pleasure to ride and is very happy in the low throttle range extremely smooth with excellent manners. Does not run hot by any means in fact on the dyno I had to turn the fans off many times to keep the engine in the 180+ temp range.
We tuned this engine on 89 octane fuel , reason was once the customer gets back to CA where we all know that there fuel is by far the best you can get there will be no issues at all.
With an engine of this size relieving crank case & oil bag pressure had to be delt with up front. I added two extra breather line to the oil bag. One was located in the filler neck the other top of the trans case. We had zero oil misting from any of the breather ports.
Top gear roll on power from low rpm is flat out amazing. very mild mannered engine under light throttle, wick the throttle and hang on.

Steve-
I want to thank you again for working with R&R and putting this motor package together. My many thanks go out to you, Reggie Sr. & JR. for a kick-ass motor. I have only had a chance to take it out for a few minutes last night but from what I felt during that short time I can tell you it's smooth and FAST! I will keep you posted after I get some miles on it. I can tell you that riding at sea level and and 5000/ft are two different things. I am truely grateful to have dealt with 2- top notch vendors during this build.
Stay tuned for more details after miles put on...
Shane

It spools so fast you can't shift fast enough... Bangs the limiter too easily...

Hey Shane, just curious on the new bore and stroke of the motor. Is that due to the cases being the billet ones with bigger holes?
Does it feel similar or different, all else being the same?

Hi Dan-
I didn't want a stroker motor again. CA FEUL SUCKS> I wanted to try a square design. These cases are HUGE! Bullet proof is what I wanted and longevity. I haven't had a chance to really ride it since getting back from Steve's last night. Its feels better in the lower RPM's.
I'll keep you posted. I do know on a cold tire in 3rd at 40mph if you roll into the throttle quick it goes sidways on you. It spools fast. Steve did several time dynos. Maybe he will post numbers as I don't recall them specifically.

Looks sweet Steve. 143 square and over 120TQ @ 2500rpm and pulling it thru the whole rpm band. Can't beat that. I believe for big inch builds these are the future motors because of where the fuels are going. Be careful on that thing Shane and enjoy!

Heads are billet round port, cylinders are ductiled lined, much less heat than the ductile set up when compared to the other cylinders we used. In fact had a hard time keeping engine above 180 F on the dyno it shed heat so well. And I am not sure who does R&R's PC work. Came that way. These engines have a much larger bolt pattern than the standard cast head that is used for stock T/C set up. 4 3/8 X 4 3/8
Engine is in stealth mode
