There are companies that makes prescription wrap around glasses if that is all that is keeping you behind a windshield.

Swore for years I would never have a windshield or fairing; used to really rag on guys that did... ah the foolishness of youth... lol.
Man aint that the truth.....

3,500k in 3 days with no wind protection is definitely getting harder each time.
Each time I get home I swear, "Never Again"
But the next time I roll out, I say....Naaaa that's for old guys..

Wind is exhausting, the rain is really bad, but the worst in the wind noise for all those hours driving you mad.

For a bagger/touring scooter, fixed fairing any day of the week.

The 1/4 fairings are for looks on a Harley and windshields are a better than nothing option.

For a smaller scooter and shorter trips, naked works for me.

I have a windshield for my 84 FXR, I think I used it one time last year, on a 400 mile roll. Spent 350 miles wishing I had left it home.

Batwing w/stock height windshield.
Bunch of nerve damage on the left side of my face. Doing things outside on a windy day or riding with the car window down catches up with me real fast. Been limiting my rides to 30-50 miles at a time. Seems to be getting worse the older I get.

I have not had a shield for sometime now. It is tiresome on a long ride without one. I hate the rain!!! Someday I will get one. Someday.....

I was either wise beyond my years or a born lightweight- every bike I've owned has had at least a windshield.

Had a little sporty windshield on my shovel. Have the same thing on my FXR.

I voted RG, because RG and FXR both use frame mount.

Didn't include the FXRT/FXRP like yours because it's obsolete and not used on a current model.

And yes , by Electra-Glide , I mean the fork-mounted 'Batwing' or 'Rhino' as I called it because I always thought it was ugly as a Rhino. Similar to the one introduced in 1969.

Windshield when it's cool. No windshield to look cool.

Had my FXRS setup for a bit with a Memphis shades gauntlet and use a full face helmet, nice affect. The shades worked great for knocking the wind off your chest.

I agree with G. Some days I prefer no shield at all. On a trip or highway run then I prefer a fairing to windshield.

3,500k = 3,500,000. You rode 3.5 million miles in three days?

On a serious note, I too swore when I was younger and only riding sport bikes that a motorcycle with a radio on it wasn't a real motorcycle, and fairings were ugly as sh!t. Just drive a car. Right? Less than ten years later I bought my first cruiser with a removable windshield. I took it off because "those are for old guys and it looks stupid" and hated the ride (mostly highway to work). I loved the way the bike looked, so I ended up getting a seat with a back rest to compensate for the wind pushing me. Fast forward a year or so later and I got a fairing and radio, then a few years later I fell in love with the Street Glide, and now I have one. Looking back, I was so stupid. Typical young punk making assumptions about things he had no knowledge about. I absolutely love my Street Glide. Love the wind protection, love listening to music, love sitting upright and comfortable.

So, for me, Street Glide/Electra Glide fairing all the way. Road glide fairings are ugly to me, but to each their own. I've never ridden one to compare effectiveness of the fairing, but next time the local dealership does a demo ride, I'm going to have to try it out and see. A coworker traded his Electra Glide for a Road Glide and he loves it. Might be something there.

Riding and living down thisaways means sand is on all the roadways. Every car is pulling a mist of sand particles. Pickups pulling a box trailer have a sandstorm behind them. Several times sand smacked me in the face so hard I thought my sciatic nerve popped off.
I have had a windshield since that fateful day 22 years ago.
