The skirted front fender with the Indian light was kind of the traditional signature Indian deal.

Yes sir, you are correct of course. I have even seen Harley's with a tacky light or gadget on the front fender. Just not my style. Not saying it is a bad thing, only that it doesn't do anything for me.

Victory's weren't big sellers. Dealers averaged selling 20 bikes a year.

I didn't realize their sales were so bad.

Settertude is reading this now saying WTF is this?
I've only seen a hand full of Vics around and not many more Indians. The dealer says they are selling lots of them, but they may be hiding away in garages because I'm not seeing any numbers.

It will be interesting if the closure of Victory will have any negative impact on Indian sales? Surely Polaris is banking on the opposite from happening. Hope they are not counting on Vic riders to switch to Indians...or HD for that matter, lol. They are understandably pissed off!

Wondering the same thing here.

And other than loss of jobs and allot of Vic owners being affected $$ and parts wise, it sux that Harley has lost some competition of an American brand of bikes.

That and Vic trade in value will take a big hit.

Having owned a 1996 Buell S2T bought new for 10-11 years I lost 65-75% trade in value. Basically it was basically worth close to sh*t. In hind sight should have kept it but I was dead set on down sizing from 3 to one bike.

Thinking a little more about this I cannot help but wonder if Polaris won't find themselves upside down financially anyways. Why? Well for one there is a whole bunch of 2016 Touring Indians left unsold. And why buy a 2016 that doesn't have the "Ride Command System" when you can have one on a 2017.

Some dealers have even gone as far as putting custom paint jobs on the 2016 touring rigs thinking that would be a selling point? I don't think a paint job trumps having a "Ride Command Center"

I have met a few who are wicked pissed because they bought a 2016 and felt cheated because they would have held out for the 2017 "Ride Command System" bike had the dealership mentioned it.

Victory had to know they were done when Polaris bought the Indian name and didn't fold the two together.

With that said, Indian isn't anything to get excited about at the moment either. Dealers are folding and Polaris has basically killed the resale value of the existing stores by massively reducing the financial requirements of becoming a new dealer.

High end motorcycle sales are bad all over. And the competition is cutting prices. That has the MoCo dealers screaming for sales help from Milwaukee.

A few weeks ago, I could have bought an F6B off the floor for 17800 bottom line out the door. Only catch was no trade allowance on non Honda scooters. Company line was that it was for repeat customers looking to trade up. I had a moment where I was figuring out how cold I would be riding that Rebel down to Bmore.

smitty901 is reading this now saying WTF is this?
There are a lot of Victory bikes parked right now waiting on parts. Polaris was not living up to warranty issue with them, People I know were fight like heck trying to get parts .
As of the phony Indian goo luck over priced just for a name that has no meaning.
Sad for those that just bought them . Like they lost 30% of more of their value. (Being nice)
One Victory owner I know emailed me he may buy one of the discounted new ones for parts, at least his will be back on the road.

It seems most of the used ones I've seen for sale don't have a lot of miles on them, so that may be the case.

I know I haven't seen any around here.
