1993 Fxr
New guy here....
1993, your standard mods,... intake, exhaust, cam, lifters, carb re-worked, billet WG front end, forwards, etc. etc.
Nice to see an FXR forum...we grip draggers are gettin' scarce.

I actually never saw his bike, but he told me about it, and I was wrong about the mags. He has 2 other Harleys, a 95 bagger and a 88 Low Rider, and he only rides either of those 2 to work. I told him about your bike and he told me it's a genuine FXR4 in factory painted orange, with a solid rear wheel and a spoked front wheel. Since I never saw it I can't confirm the engine color, but it must be silver like yours. He bought it new and it has only a few thousand miles on it, and he hardly ever rides it.

Definitely a nice looking bike Freak! I like that seat, it looks good and seems really low.

I know what you mean, my bike had a Corbin seat and it wasn't very comfy for either of us. I put a mustang seat with the wide rear pad on it, and now we can ride as long as we want without getting saddle sore. We enjoy riding it so much more now, plus it looks great on my bike too!

The only decent digital picture I have. This is from 05 or 06. It's undergoing crash repair right now, and will be white next time you see it.
It's a 93 with complete FXRT setup from an 84.

My Work In Progress - 1988 FXRP
Just got this baby girl about a month ago, and there are already a slew of changes. Originally an FXRP, the first owner took it to a custom shop & dropped $14K on customizing it - I even have the receipts. Lowered front & rear, motor taken apart & balanced, heads flowbenched, new cam, back cut gears, CV carb w/Thunderslide kit, Hooker 2-into-1 pipe, front & rear JayBrakes w/forward controls, custom tank, custom rear fender, and chrome plated a ton of stuff. The original owner paid a ton of money to get lots of bolts & parts gold plated, as well, and I'm slowly swapping that all out for black & chrome. The 80's are long over, after all.
I took off the Hypercharger (little too trendy for me) and put on a classic S&S-style teardrop air cleaner. I'm swapping out the ragged Corbin Gunfighter seat for a Drag Specialties Predator with pretty much the same profile, and I recently added a National Cycles spotlight bar up front, all the better to be seen with. I swapped out the grips, mirrors, gas cap, timing cover, and derby cover, which were all "Live To Ride, Eagle Spirit" crap, and am planning on getting it all repainted before spring time. Black, of course.
The motor pulls like a freight train, has only 16,000 original miles on it (sat for 3 years untouched, which required a bit of work to get running well), and has plenty of grunt for my needs. The low-pro strut turn signals in the rear look pretty good as-is, and the cat's eye tail light is getting an LED replacement bulb for brightness. I've been buying lotsa stuff on the cheap off eBay to turn it into more of a timeless classic Harley than a flashy custom, bringing it more up-to-date but keeping it conservative.
I've owned a couple of nice Sportsters before this, but this one's my first Big Twin. I've always thought the FXR is the nicest BT of 'em all, and always wanted one. When an absolute smoking deal came along, I was able to look past gaudy crap & see a diamond in the rough. With the strong motor, straight frame, and a world of potential, I knew I had to have this bike.
I got it for less than a new Sportster, and with a little money & a lot of elbow grease, will have a sweet FXR that should last me a lifetime.

Hi Naear,
That is a very nice bike, I like that color very much. Is that a corbin rumble seat, if so that is the seat I desperately want on my FXR, but they are mega-expensive over here, as shipping from the US is over the top.

I just sold my Corbin rumble seat on Ebay for $130 plus shipping. I didn't like it so I picked up a Mustang touring seat in almost new condition for $100 on Ebay. I really love the look and comfort of it, and so does my wife. Corbin seats might look good, but they are very uncomfortable for a long ride.

Hi justintyme73,
I have had heatshields on my pipes that are held on with hose clamps for the last 6 years, without a problem, they are still as secure today as when I first put them on. Although I will say, I went and bought some the same size as original, but in stainless, and threw the original chrome ones ones away to ensure longevity, you might wanna give this some consideration, they are readily available at any decent fastener suppliers.
