Need some advice

Not usually one to ask questions but this ones got me stumped. The short version is, my clutch adjusters snap ring broke while I was riding the bike and it and the pushrod grenaded my derby cover and skipped down the highway. The problem is that now I can't seem to get the right length pushrod. My bike is an 86 FXR with a late style trans end cover where the cable comes in the bottom. I have ordered the rod from two different dealers and they both sent me a rod around 11". It seems to be about an inch or so short. Does anyone know the correct length for an 86, or if the new style cover requires a different length rod? Thanks in advance. JAMES

Thought I would go ahead and put a pic of the derby cover up. It sure does suck when you pull up in the driveway to this and a huge mess.

You might try asking at Delphi Hawgryders furum and see if those guys could help if nothing there. It is a shovel and evo related forum. Stock is just over 11" and a 87 syle would be just over 11.405" Not an inch longer but longer. Could the one you had be custom made??? Don't see any longer than 11.405"
