Call D&D & notifiy them about your problem. They might warranty the pipe.Who tuned your bike? The bluish discoloration looks like a lean condition!!!

Damn............that's a break, not a crack.

I've never seen or heard of a Fatcat having any problems at all, I'm sure D&D will help you out.

Two of mine broke as well. Not like that though.Dam! both of mine broke at the tranny mounting tab. Leonard at D+D did cover the first one, but the second one i just welded myself and all been good so far.

maybe its my eyes or monitor, but it looks like that pipe got really hot, and rear jug looks lean.

I could be wrong but it looks like it broke where the pipe steps up diameter and is welded together. Does the fatcat used a stepped header?

It is a stepped header and that does appear to be where it cracked.

Stepped header pipes are some people's way of tuning a pipe.
This is a patch job at best IMHO.
It only can cause stress issues like this person is dealing with.
Hooker steps their header pipes also.
Check out RB Racing, or JBV Racing's pipe designs..
No step function at all; just good physics engineering.

Stepped is only a means to slow exhaust to create more back pressure & increase tq.It is an ingenius thought!! While it might pose some stress at the stepped part; if the tune is done correctly stress will be greatly reduced!!!!

the stepping is actually to accelerate exhaust.

That patch job will do as well or better than RB's pipe and it doesn't take 3 months and the worst CS around to get one RB Racing is a bunch of arses. Sounds like you subscribe to their same line of thought though..if it isn't THEIR way its wrong. Nascar sure does ok with their patched headers as well.
