New pipe question

I want to install V&H short shots. If I keep the factory ac in tact & use the quiet baffles do I need to re-map it or buy a sert or similar device? I'm just going for looks for now, maybe by the end of the winter I'll do more.

Unless they have changed V&H doesn`t make a quiet baffle for the shortshots,at least they didn`t in 03 had them on my 1500 vulcan man they were loud didn`t keep them for long. Before you purchase make sure you can get a quiet baffle for them . If you do slip ons only leave the airbox alone you dont need to rejet..

Remember the engine is an airpump. You uncork either end and it WILL flow more air, then it will need more fuel to run properly. You may get away with it, you may not. I didn't with slip-ons and one turned yellow from being lean.

There will be those that will tell you you'll be fine, that's what they told me, it wasn't.

they make a quiet baffle for the staggered short shots, but not the original. if money is an issue, you can try it without a fuel pak, but in the long run you'll be better off using one. you can always upgrade the filter later and re-program the fuel pak. that'd be a good compromise.
