yokes on me

I am changing my bike from the vance and hines long shots, back to stock.

When taking off the v@h header pipe I was careful to save everthing and to commit to memory how things went back.

My trouble is that when I went to the dealer, and saw the exploded view of the whole system, it showed there to be a yoke between the header pipe and the head.

This yoke did not show itself when I took off the old exhaust, does this mean that the vance and hines unit did not need to have one, or is it that the yoke is still sitting pressed to the head?

Are you talking about the exhaust gaskets? They are a metal mess if stock and can look like they are part of the exhaust port. If your exhaust port seems to have a tapper, the gasket is still in the head. Use a small pick to pull it out.

Exhaust

Yes I am talking about the gasket, I thought were called the yolk or yoke. I know they are there with cars but when I took off the exhaust and they did not fall out I thought maybe with this v@h exhaust they were not needed, I am a bricklayer not wrench.

The v@h exhasut were loud and could have easily have covered the sound of an exhuast leak,

I am with you they are probably still sitting in there, but I was just going to connect the next exhaust up, with out taking them out, is this not OK?

If there still in good shape they should be okay. I would still swap them for new ones, about 13 bucks at the dealer. Their very easy to replace.
