anyone using the bassani power cuve

I'm thinking about replacing my Thunder Header with a power curve set up with Bub 7's slip ons. I like the look of balance on my bagger but I also don't want to loose sound or low end torque. Any thoughts on or experience with his set up wpould be appreciated.

THUNDER HEADER

I had the power curve but i also ran Khrome Werks mufflers on them. I like the headers, only equal lenth headers. But don't like the loud sound of from the bassani mufflers . The KW mufflers are more tuneable than all but supertrapp. They have 3 different baffles in the old 3" bodies. Had this set up on a 115hp 95" e-glide. Made a bit more hp with bassani's 2in1 system but made more tq with the 2into2 headers and KH mufflers. And a better running bike with out setting off alarms. Buy a roll of heat tape and roll the curve area on the rear pipe and then install the heatshield if your running them. The heat bothers some .

You will not get both max hp and tq,you will have to go more for one than the other. With a street bike, its tq that moves you. You asked about bassani's ? I gave you a review. Thats all.

Tru Duals

ANY tru dual system will make your low end a bit "mushy." I had the Bassani power curve tru duals on my bike for about 500 miles and tried to tell myself the bike ran better with the system, as I had spent the bucks to purchase the system. BS! The minute I put the stock header pipes back on with the SAME slip on's, my low end torque came back.

This is what EVERYONE who responded to my thread asking about low end torque loss with tru duals told me. I should have listened to them!!!

Now there are some that state the problem can be corrected on a dyno with some tuning. I'm not so sure I believe that statement. My experience was right off of idle until around 2800 RPM, the throttle response was not as crisp and felt "Soft" compared to the stock head pipes.

Now I have heard the tru duals will work fine with BIG cubic inch motors tuned properly, but not with an 88" or a 96" motor.

HD puts a cross over pipe, "Ballance tube," in all of their stock exhaust systems for a reason. And it is not to make the system quieter. The tru dual system was not any louder than the stock header pipes, just different sounding.

How about D@D's Fat Cat two into one, with a ghost pipe on the left. Bike looks balanced, Great sound and performance. I have one on my 07 SERK.
Check out their web site. Google D@D performance.
