vance&hines 2into1 or d&d fatcat 2into1
now i may be beating a dead horse on this one but, with all the opinions on this site which pipe produces a better sound.... the vance and hines pro pipe or the d&d fat cat with standard baffle or performence baffle.....now i like my exhaust to be a bit on the loud side

D&D doesnt make a big bore baffle!!!! It's either quiet, standard,or performance baffle!!!!! It depends on what size ci motor your running, head flow, comp used, cam used.Knowing all this will help determine which pipe to use.D&D makes 2 different 2 into 1 pipes. The Fatcat & the Boarzilla. All 3 baffles are available in both versions. The quality and performance is unmatched!!!!JMHOP!!!!!!!!

D@D does make a big bore baffle for their Fat Cat system. I recently purchased the quiet one. It requires a Big Bore muffler housing too, if you don't already have it. Then if you go larger displacement, you step up to the Borzilla.

personally don't care for the sound of the fatcat...have one on a high compression 96"...of all the loud pipes I've tried, bassani roadrage sounded best to me and performed well, too

in this photo bucket there is a couple short videos of two 103's with each pro-pipe and fatcat with qb. bigbore baffle and perf. baffle are one in the same if i'm not mistaken. the pro pipe dyna has a crane 296 (.619 lift)and is 10:6 to 1, the fatcat bike woods 7h and is 10:4 to1. fatcat bike makes around 2hp more on the same dyno.

And the winner is.............Thunderheader!
I would check out the motor your instructor has with that Thunderheader. A Bad Ass motor can make 2 Sewer pipes bolted on sound mean! I've owned Thunderheaders and they do sound nice though but as previously stated, it really has more to do with the engine-I personally enjoy the sound of PERFORMANCE over the sound of any pipe. All the pipe does is complement or take away from the build of the motor and scavenge burn exhaust. Some guys want to sound loud and mean when really they are just masking a weak motor (ex: drag pipes on a stock motor). With noise laws creeping on all of us, no need to be loud just for louds sake.

CCat:
Thanks for the Photo.Buck.'s video sound clips. Trying to hear the D&D fc's, not any of them ANYWHERE in central Ind, only one of five tuners I talked with has installed set...he said they are loud!!!
U Tube has D&D's std baff, good deep sound, like it. Also one with QT baff sounds nasty on revs, idle sounded ok.
V&H, dont like looks of pro 2-1, (small to big) front-rear. Sounds likes other V&H.
MY stock 07 Heritage I went cheap at 1k, Rush/2", sert, se/ac. dyno. Wanted to cool it down.
At 59, I like the deeper sound, Rush sounds good but little power gains even with good tune. With stage (1). I dynoed, 71-83 SAE.
Want good 2-1 system & bolt in cams for low-mid power. no other work.planed
Narrowed it to D&D FC's or V&H Big shot longs for pipes as I have the cam picked out.
Like the fatcats best. Trying to find out if they are a lot louder than Rush 2", or even the V&H BSL's.?
Dont want any louder than what a set of V&H's with / std baffle would be , as stated like my Rush 2" they set off wifes car alarm now in the drive when started but Quiet down at steady speeds.
So can anyone compare the D&D fatcats / std baffles.
Are they louder than V&H / standard baffles, or even the Rush 2" or about the same???
Any guess how much the D&D's or V&H's 2-1 would improve the TQ over the stock headers and slip-ons?

vance and hines pro-pipe hs is a good pipe, is tuneable, and would be a big improvement over the stock system...it is a good bit cheaper than fatcat...on an '07 it would require a power commander with o2 eliminators because it doesn't have the o2 bungs...have your bike tuned by a pro...going to a 2 into 1 requires that the cylinders be tuned individually...andrews 26 is a good cam for an otherwise stock motor

Fatcat rocks in my opinion!!!! The quality is unmatched too.Keep in mind the more comp you run the deeper & louder the exhaust note will be!!!!!

I ran the Pro Pipe for 8 years. Installed the Fat Cat this Spring. Which one sounds better? Who cares.
I picked up 4.4 HP and 10.4 lb/ft of torque. The bike pulls as hard in 5th gear as it pulled in 4th gear with the Pro Pipe. The Pro Pipe felt weak below 3,500 rpm. The best way to describe the difference is that it feels like a bigger motor.
And for those that put more emphasis on sound, both systems sound good. It's all relative to the state of tune.
