Thundermonster baffles
Hi all, I 'am new to the forum and have a question about where to purchase Thundermonster baffles. Do you have to go direct to BCT or can you buy them thru one of the online parts dealers? Thanks

Just installed bct baffles
I have an 06 Wide Glide with SE/AC, Stage 1 race download and SEII Slash Cut Slip Ons. I contacted Jim at BCT and he was very nice and helpful. I replaced them in less than 15 minutes and they fit perfectly. The difference in sound is nothing short of incredible. The bike now has a nice deep tone at idle, and is not obnoxously loud. When you get on it, there is a nice bark, again not obnoxious. Power throughout the RPM band is smooth and crisp. I had slight decel pop with the SEII baffles, now none with the BCT Thundermonsters. I highly recommend this product to anyone loooking for the true Harley sound from a pair of slip ons. The best $130 I spent so far on my bike. Hope this helps others here

I've heard nothing but good things about the Thundermonster baffles. I've just installed some Rinehart 2:1 on my 07 FLHRC and wonder what the Thundermonster would do in a 2:1 pipe...if it would be worth it or not?
Also, the PCIII is mapped for the Rineharts, does anybody know if just changing the baffle would require a re-map?

I had them in my 06' Train. 95/204 build with Big Radius pipes.
Sounded like crap and ran like crap. I sold them for $25.00, and felt that I ripped the guy off.
Some guys have good luck, but it killed off my low end. The sound was louder, but nowhere as tight and crisp sounding as the stock baffles.

I have had em in two sets of pipes. Cycle Shack slip ons and Hooker Trouble Makers. Loved the sound improvement in both pipes when putting these in. Definitely noticed a performance difference in mid to high range. Didnt feel like I lost much in the low end but never put it on a dyno to prove anything concrete. All in all for the $80 I spent I felt they were worth it. Especially if you like nice loud deep sound.
Good Luck.

I have to agree with you on this one. Had them in my Big Radius pipes and I thought they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. After a while the sound just wore me down, especially last year on my trip to Sturgis. I never did notice any real improvement in performance from these baffles and reinstalled the Vance and Hince baffles. Waste of money in my opinion.

Highlander 51 your PM storage is full and you can't receive anymore messages.
BTW I think the TM's made my V&H Bigshots sound even better than they already did.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm going to try them in some Vance and Hines straightshot slipons on a 06 streetbob with SE aircleaner, stage 1 and fuel pak. I 'm going to do a before and after for the fuel pak and the baffles to isolate the changes to performance. Thanks Mike

Post the results when you get em.
It would be nice to see some actual proof of performance from these baffles. I think they definitely help you mid to upper range without losing much down low. But to see proof would help validate those claims.

TM baffles with fuelpak
Ok, do they work? Yes they do. How well? If you need a pair of baffles for straight pipes or pipes without much resriction really good. If you have pipes with baffles in them like V&H straight shots with standard baffles the TM's are ok sound wise with a little help in mid range to upper end. But you need to pay attention to overall tune of the engine. I'm using the fuelpak which I know has gotten alot of flack because it's not as easy to use , but I just spent some time going over the sheet of maps, and found the closest one to my setup. The one I used was pretty good then I fooled with it, richened up the mid and the upper end and it runs very good. We're talkin plug and play here. If you have a sert or pc I think the the TM's will come alive but to get the most out of any comb of pipes and air/fuel the state of tune is everything.
Don't waste your money on these baffles if you already have baffles that came with your slipons or exhaust system and your not willing to tune the whole thing together. Sound wise they are fine, but they are loud.
