Do different tips create different or louder sound??

Just curious if there is a difference in sound on the same type of exhaust when running different tips. So would slash downs be louder than turn-outs. Or would straight cuts be more quiet than slash ups. The thing that got me thinking about this is my current Wild Pigs and the V&H slip-ons I had on my Sporty were straight cut and they don't really have a rumble sound. They have more of a vrooom sound. Prior to the V&H I had Python slip-ons which are basically the same as V&H with slash cut and they were louder and had more of a rumble.

Yes, they can make a different sound. Fishtails, for example, can choke down the exhaust and even make a difference in performance.

Yes, I just went from: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
to these:http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
and I notice a slight difference but my friend riding behind me said it was noticably louder.

It's tough to know how your bike sounds from riding it. If there is someone you trust enough, let them ride and you listen. You'll be surprised at how loud it is.
