Got my Wild Pigs today

First off I am going to say when you order blems you really get blems. I know alot of people have ordered them and not found anythign wrong with them. This set have chrome chipping away at the ends. Luckily it was the end that clamps into the header pipe. There was serious discoloring around the brackets and alot of dimples and rough spots in the chrome all around. I can see these are probably not going to last that long.

Installation was fine on one side. When got to the other the pipe was bent out and would not fit into the header pipe. I had to beat it back into shape with a rubber mallet.

After I finally got them installed I cranked it over. Sound was a little louder than stock but not too awfully loud. The tone is definantly deeper. Took it out for a run and noticed there was an increase in power. I was up to 70 and didn't even realize it. Right around 60 I gassed it and it had alot more umph.

All in all I am semi-pleased. I wasn't expecting perfect fit and finish in blems, but I wasn't expecting them to be this bad. The defect in the end really pissed me off. Felt like I had to fab a slip-on part to get it to fit. Sound is ok. Power increase is where I am most impressed. Not bad for what I paid. If these had been $300+ pipes they would have been going back. They'll hold me over until I get a full system.

Blems

I picked up a set of blems, (small dent on one of them) and couldn't be happier.
Came with a t-shirt and concluded the deal for $145 delivered.
I got them with 2" baffles.

When you roll with a blem you really can't expect too much, other then a deal.
I'm running a sert with killer map that i got from mega glide, and those wildpigs with a SE airfilter, and she pulls nice.
I'm upgrading to a T-header soon, so the pigs are hanging in there for a couple more weeks.
I've run those blems for 12k miles and they are all right.

Don't sweat it too much ride the hell out of them and upgrade down the road.

you can't see them when you are rolling.

good luck

Since I have had three sets of mufflers, including the Scremeni' Eagle Performance Mufflers (check this out: http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=65583), I am extremely pleased with the Wild Pig Pipes. It's been 6 months now that I have been runnin' these pipes, excellent sound (I use various baffles, with or without wrapings), chrome remains the same, no yellow or blue color, even though I ride very hard and aggressive, but I have to emphasize that I have a DFO installed.

Wild Pig Pipes: strongly recommended!

And at $189 you probably can't find a better deal.

To add a word, I've run the Wild Pigs with 2" baffles for over 10,000 miles now and I have noticed that they sound much deeper now than when installed. Well pleased with the sound and look, and for the money, you can't beat them. I will say that I just got back for a 2000 mile trip in 100 degree weather and one of the pipes is showing a little bluing.
