Question Need some help here with which....

pipes to go with. Here is my problem I have a set of Stock pipes (too quiet) I havew a set of Screamin' Eagle Pro II pipes ( TOO LOUD)

I am look for a set of pipes that is in the middle of these....I am running Stock 06' Roadglide with the minor mods:

High Flow A/C
Fullsac True Duals
Remapped for Stage 1
Right now I have the stock pipes on!!

Long rides with the Screamin Eagles on I couldn't hear the CD player or myself think I would like a set of pipes that has a good sound to thme but not deafen everybody in the neighbor hood when I go out to work @ 6 AM....

Right now I think some of the neighbors are getting ready to my 06 RoadGlide due to it being so loud.

Anyway, I need some advice form folks before I sink another $400 or so in a set of pipes!!!

If you have the SE mufflers with seperate end caps, you can cut down on the noise level using the sport tapered end caps. With the double groove end caps the sound was annoying at highway speeds; when I switched to the sport tapered end caps the sound became much more mellow.

Joe,

I would send off your stock muffs to Steve at Fullsac and get them re-cored!! For $200 you cant go wrong... I love mine, they are just loud enough to enjoy the fine sound, but not so loud that I piss off all the neighbors (I live at the end of a court and I cant help but set off 2 car alarms EVERY time I come or go!!) My other half likes them too, heck even my dog was impressed on how good they sound!!

I was in a similar situation with my 05 FLTRI. My last bike was entirely too loud and I wanted to do it right this time. I went with a set of Vance and Hines Head pipes, Kerker Mufflers and theirs quiet/wrapped baffles. After installation, the exhaust note was barely louder then stock, but after a few rides, the baffles settled in real good and now sound great. Put it this way, I can still hear the tunes real well and my neighbors don't complain when I fire it up for my morning ride to work (6:00am). But when I nail it, she still knows how to bark. Oh yea, my ears don't wring anymore either.

Hey Roadie...Do you have part numbers and where you got them? I have talked to several people locally and they also recommend the Kerker pipes for a low bass sound but not blairing loud obnoxious sound...

Do the Vance and Hines Headers have a bung in the pipe? I am going to do the TV II install soon also and if so I would by the headers as well!!!

The only exhaust that I know of that has a bung for the O2 sensor are the Rineharts. If you like a set of headers that don't have the O2 port, I would think any decent welder could install them for you. Just my

The Part Numbers for the Kerker's can be found on the Super Trapp website. I think Super Trapp now owns Kerker. Same thing for Vance & Hines, their web site has a special exhaust section for baggers.

With regards to the Vance and Hines Tru-Duals Head Pipe set-up. As far as I know, no, they do not come with a Bung. Your gonna have to get one welded in just like I did if your going to run a closed loop fuel manager (w/O2 sensor). Either that, or pay more bucks and buy the Rinehart Tru-Dual Head Pipe.

When you get finished, let us know how it all turns out. ride safe.

i've done a bunch of slipons and the best sounding for the $$$ is still wild pigs with 3/4 " baffle.
