Undecided on pipes on a 05 FLSTCI

I have been wanting to replace my stock pipes on my 05 Heritage and I think want to go with the Big shot staggereds. Just a few questions.
Since they end around the rear axle area will they cause any heat damage to my bags?
Also I don't want an overly loud sounding pipe so I was also going to get the quiet baffles. Will that quiet em down enough so they are not blasting my neighbors? Don't mind some noise I already feel like im riding a Honda (slap me I didnt say that) with the sound I have now.
Also thought about the big shot longs but Im not sure If I like the look and I keep hearing the staggereds are a better set of pipes. Please any input is appreciated.

I suspect those short pipes will leave carbon & soot on your right side bag.
But it just might work out. Put the beer & ice in the left side and warm your tamale in the right side.
Um... You do like to keep your tamale warm, don't you?

BSS are quite loud stock.
The quiet baffles help at idle and cruise.
When accelerating the quiet baffles knock off some of the bark.

You'll also notice a loss of low end torque.

That's not really true. He's changing from stock. BSS are not near
as good a choice as a good 2-1 but they are not near as bad as
straight pipes.
BSS have the crossover and it helps.
With a good tune, RT or PC, the BSS are adequate IMHO.
BTW I have a 95" build with over 100/100 and BSS.
The pipes are ok but will probably change to TH or PP as I
know my midrange will improve.

I agree that a SERT would get SOME of it back but that's an expensive fix.
