Best 2-1 Exhaust?
I'm debating going to a 2-1 exhaust to replace my current True Duals and Wild Pigs.
I'm looking at either the Bassani Road Rage, D&D FatCat, or Thunderheader.
Does anyone have any dyno comparisons of these 3, or actual gains of either of these? Any word on which is the best performing?
I've heard the D&D is very loud, the Thunderheader is in the middle, and the Bassani is on the low end.
Any help or info would be great.
Thanks,
Steve

Yes, I read thru that thread.
I forgot to mention this is for a '05 Ultra Classic.
I already have the Arlen Ness Big Sucker, and a Power Commander IIIusb.
I'm leaning toward the Thunderheader, Dynojet has a map on the PC website for that pipe for the '05............so it would be a simple download and pipe install.

Fatcat has my bid. The thunderheader is simply too dated in looks for me , it blues, and performance wise, I am not sure there is that much of a difference.

V&H Pro-pipe has my bid for looks and sound. They are said to be good performers, also.

FWIW...I heard a bike this week up close and personal with Thunderheaders. VERY loud. Can't imagine riding for any length of time, ear plugs or not. I for one wouldn't even consider these things.

The D&D Fatcat on my Heritage is perfect. Awesome perfomance. Nice rumble at idle, Healthy sound but still mellow at cruise, and when you twist the wick, HOLY BAT, SH&TMAN, THIS THING ROARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YMMV

2 guys I work with have a Thunderheader on their bikes ('02FLHT & '03FLHR) and they sound very good. Not too loud at all, but I'm sure when you really twist it they will come to life.
I rode to Laconia with one of them, and my Wild Pigs & True Duals were louder at all situations compared to his bike.

My T-header does come to life when you twist it, so does the engine. I think at cruise the header isn't loud at all. It was my first choice and I am very happy with it. The Thunderheader is the one everyone else compares themselves to...that should tell you something.

I went with a thunderheader.. and Im lovin it. It has a nice deep rumble at idle and barks really nice when I twist the throttle open some. At cruise speeds 60-70 its a supper nice deep melow growl. I wouldnt hesitate 1 bit putting one on my next bike, or suggesting one to a friend.
good luck

I've posted many times regarding the thunder header. It seems to work exceptionally well with a bump in compression/head work. I LOVED the sound. It wasn't too loud (in my opinion) until you twist it. Then a nice bark.
In the name of fair play... I'd like to see a dyno shootout with all the above pipes. Use a 95" build with heads & cams...get a baseline established, and go. Nothing but the pipes changed. Give each pipe 3 dyno runs to tune, and average the results. Any one done this??? This would seem to me to be the best way to get to the straight poop on which works better...'cause EVERYBODY has a favorite pipe, and consequently toots the horn!

Since you are asking - I have several pics of my scooter in the Road King Owners thread, with clear shots of the Thunderheader and the false pipe, too. Since the post you are responding to was a Road King Custom (FLHRS, even tho you mention an ultra) maybe those pics would help - they are in the touring forum.
Good luck-

Since I do not pay to view this forum.........I can't see your pictures.
Can you email them to me, or post them in your message so they show up automatically.
