V&H Oval Slip ons

I just put a set of V&H Oval slipons on my '05 Ultra. I'm having a problem getting the muffler to seal to the header pipe. The supplied clamps just allowed way too much leak so I went back to the factory clamps.

I was able to reduce the left to 0 but the right still has a slight leak. V&H tech support suggested I grind the L portion of their clamp. Does anyone have any advise or has had the same problem?

Thanks.

I just kept torquing the bolt and by doing so, bent the L bracket inward. It seems to be tight. As I tightened the bolt, I could see the gap in muffler ends close.
