Exhaust suggestions

Had engine mod's done to my '05 e glide and wanted to change my exhaust. I have SE perf slipons presently. I am looking for more power and more sound (volume and tone) but not VERY loud.

I bought Kerker P.A.T. baffles and played around with them. Best power was one in right and leave SE baffle on left side. Even though I got 3 more HP than the other tries, I lost torqe at the bottom end. I believe the SE baffles had more back pressure. I don't want to lose the torque at the bottom end. By the way, I did all of this on a dyno. Have SERT too. I thought the Kerker's were too loud. Not super loud but a little much for me.

I heard that Rhineharts are supposed to sound good but also heard that true duals will rob me of power. Can these be modifyed to add back pressure? Has anyone heard of Freedom cycles in Reno? They supposedly re-worked these to perform. I dont know what their definition of perform is.

What about different slip ons and my stock pipes or someone else's pipes with new slip ons.

Lastly, I cannot find the thread but I saw somewhere that there was talk of Cycle Shack slip ons that they have good power and sound.

Yes, I know 2-1 has the best power but I want the left side for a bagger and am not interested on Propipe or Thunderheader.

Thanks,
Ken

I have Rineharts with a 103 high compression build. Just had the bike worked on by Dr.Dyno at Americade. He removes the baffles and adds a metal tab that increases back pressure. He jokes that he has a $120 fix for $800 pipes. His fix did help the torque. 105/98HP. I was hoping for a little more, but the bike does run great.

In my opinion, Bassani makes the best exhausts on the market. Slip ons, Pro Street, Power Curve Duals have proven to be the best performing and sounding exhausts available.

Is there any specific modesl of slip ons? Who sells these. Will I get hp and torque with nice sound? Also should I use my stock pipes or go with true duals or will lose power with that? Are we talking the trifecta here?

With regards to the rhinehat response, my freind has a dyno and tunes at Sturgis, Daytona, Myrtle beach, etc and he sets up his dyno with Dr Dyno. He had told me something similar a few months ago about adding back pressure to the rhinehart's with a metal plate.

Thanks,
Ken

Cycle shack seem to be the best bang for the buck. I remember the thread where someone had dyno runs of different pipes and the C/S were right at the top.

Somebody on this forum has pics of a bagger with a 2 into 1 with a dummy left muffler and pipe that ends under the seat. I can't seem to find it. That is what I'd like to do to my '04 RK Classic.
This would be the answer to the looks vs performance issue.

Hopefully somebody can help out.

I have mine on the Road King thread. It's not on the last page, I think, but very near it.

Rvrman - do you get out to Matamora?

Harley Stage II Big Bore, plus SERT. Going to add AMS heads, get them milled for compression increase, and Andrews 37 gear drive cams. Motor should run a lot, lot better.

Yes, Metamora, Indiana - where the canal display is. Pretty neat spot. Also looking into a couple other local trips - my HOG group has a group bat factory tour in Louisville next week.

Do you hit southern Indiana much?

Have not at all yet. Been running rt 52 up the river alot. Hang out in New Richmond. Couple of good cheap eats there. Lot of bikes at Kelly's and The Landings. I need to get some things done with this vtwin. Don't have any dealer in town that I trust. Been scewed at 3 of the 4.
I'm headin' out to Maryland right now for a couple days by car unfortunately.
Maybe we can hook up soon. I could use some mod pointers.
