Can I add slip-ons?

I have a Road King Classic (EFI) and I'm using the stock pipes that came with the bike. I would like to go with a different set of pipes (slip-ons) just for the sound. I not planning on making any other changes. Will this hurt anything? Can I de-baffle my stock pipes?

Thanks in avance for your help

Not a problem. You CAN take the baffles out of the stockers, or at least punch holes in 'em, but you probably won't like the sound. They tend to be pretty tinny.
Slip-ons will give you a much better sound. If you can be patient enough to listen to other bikes and talk to their owners, you'll probably be much happier with your choice.

I punched the plugs out of mine and thought the sound got worse. Ended up going with Wild Pig Pipes and love them.

You can pick up a set of wild pigs or even a set of Screaming Eagle slip-on for your bike off of ebay for about $125 for the pair.....if you want that classic HD sound...this will give it to you....

but you will need to have your EFI remapped, as the changing of the pipes will lean out the bike......

I would recommend you change out the intake/air cleaner while you are at it.....as if you increase the flow going OUT, you should increase its ability to get the air IN....the two mods compliment one another.

A buddy of mine put the Screamin Eagle slash down slip-ons on his '05 Road King EFI without any other mods. He's had no problems and it sounds much better.
