street sweepers

Anyone got any input on the Big Gun 2 sweepers. I have always liked them for the sound , but put off buying them cos of the loss of mid range power. I have decided that the sound is probably more important to me that the power loss. Iam going to use the torque cones to help out.
What do you think, will I not notice the power loss as I will be removing stock pipes(with cored baffles)? .Iam also installing a Big sucker and Yost powertube on the Fatboy.
How about the V+H 2-1 HS, can that be run with baffles removed, would that give a deep loud sound without power sacrifice
Thanks

One of the guys I ride with has the V&H 2-1 on his Road Glide, and it sounds really good! Nice rumble at idle, and definately loud on the road or opening it up!

The V&H will definately get you more power than the Samsons, if you can handle the 2-1 look (which some people can't, to each their own! )

Since a stock Harley doens't really have a ton of oomph (something like 60ish hp or so), I wouldn't put the Samsons on a stock bike. If you're upgrading the engine to 95 or 103, then those wouldn't hurt you as bad.......

I put the RipSaws on my 2002 Nighttrain when I first got it and I'm getting rid of them now. I thought the same thing....that the sound was more important to me. After so long of having horrible low and mid-range I'm through with 'em! You may find the same frustration. Samson also says their shortie baffles won't fit the Big Gun (first series) and that the torque cones won't help with the issue. I've never been too keen on the looks of 2-1 pipes but I'm switching over to the V&H Pro-Pipe HS. At this point I want the performance back, and the Pro Pipes still sound good to me, not as good as the open pipes but it's a compromise I'll make! Just my opinion, but spend the cash on getting the best of both worlds...you'll be happier in the long run.

Khrome WerksŪ HP-PlusŪ Drag Pipe Baffles
The ultimate drag pipe baffles featuring all-steel construction that dampen the sound without impeding the flow. They're designed on the same principle as the baffles found in the popular 'AR II™' exhaust systems, and will fit any 1 3/4" or 2" drag pipes.

I also use torque cones and my bike runs pretty awesome with the samson short slashers.

Try J&P Cycles
440-624 Khrome WerksŪ HP-PlusŪ Drag Pipe Baffles For 1-3/4" drag pipes (pair) $44.99

the baffles are for any drag pipe, they make them in 1 3/4 and 2". I had to drill my pipe to mount it, but as long as you tape it first it's a piece of cake. They cut down the high pitched stuff and quiet them some, but not too much...they still growl nice when you get on it.

I don't see why the torque cones wouldn't work. Do the streetsweeper have detachable tips (access to the straight pipe?), if so you may be able to use the baffles too.

No the turn outs don't come off. a friend of mine said he tried them and could not get them to fit. I think I'm stuck with loud pipes, not a bad thing...

I don't have Street Sweepers but my bud has em on his Heritage. I hate ridin behind him cuz they kick all the crap on the road. He has lots a fun with em.

They are LOUD! He can't put baffles in em. I think he tryin to get rid of em now. Says he wants V&H Bigshot Longs or Longshots!
