I didn't have to re-jet. I switched out to a K&N and add added the BSS pipes. I had to add about another 1/2 turn to the idle mix, that puts me out from stock about 1 1/4 turns. Before I added a little more juice, the bike popped back through the carb and would stutter of the line some times, lots of decel pop to boot. Now no stutter, and the decel pop is gone, just sort of a low gurgle. I don't think I'm going to re-jet unless something changes this summer when it gets hotter.

48/195, adjust your air fuel screw and you are good to go. While you're at it, replace those cheap bowl screws with some capheads. You can get them here www.sorgys.com , call them they have a $19.95 kit with the jets, new SS screws and instructions.

I just sold my FXDL last saturday and I did a 46 slow and a dynojet kit, still coughed a bit sometime. Dynojet kit is a little spendy for what you get in the box. I have a new carb 04 Heritage coming middle of next month and I am going to do the 45/195 this time.

GlennM, you don't happen to have an H-D part # for a Kehin 195 main jet do you?
I've got one ordered through one of the online places but it's on back-order and I've just about given up on ever getting it.
Thanks

I just called (like 2 minutes ago) Sorgys and places my order for that jet kit. I don't have a part number for that 195 jet. Sorgy will sell you just the one jet if you like.

JP has one:

Glenn,
yeah I know J&P has them, I'm just too cheap to pay the $7 shipping for a $3 part. Someone here posted the part number once but I can't find it now.
Thanks

As the weather warms up the motor will be richer than it is now so the bike should run better because whether you beleive it or not, it is too lean now.
The 190 main is ok but you havent added any fuel from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.
Thats what the needle is for.

So what you're saying is that's there's really no way to get the stock carb to work correctly with a breather and pipe upgrade? I may have to rethink the jet changes.
