Black exhaust ?
I've bough a '04 FXDXI, great bike but the sound is...like a BMW. It's shame!
I'd like your opinion : i hesitate between SE double tube ( chrome) and V&H black longshots.
It seems that black color is not for very long time.
What do you know about that ?

Dyna slip on's ok
Had the Dyna black coated Dyna slip on's for 2 years (10.000 miles) and they are "Like new". Bought the SE II black coated this winter and expect the same from them.

I thought someone invented chrome because of Harley Davidson.
I could be wrong though.

Work
Chrome = Work, Black = Ride
Love when I've cleaned my ride in ½ hour

I did a couple of searches, where did you find black V&H pipes? Do they make black Dyna straight shots?

Your bike has the Ceramic coated larger diameter mufflers,Fatter{Over say the FXD and FXDL}You could maybe get a good price for them on E-Bay.They help make mid range torque being fatter around. You could ruin them for Re-sale by drilling a 1/2 inch hole in both baffles,Or knock out the whole front buffle {closeist the engine}and drill a 1/2' Only in the back rear one. Then you'll have the sound your looking for,But if I were you I'd sell them and buy a set of Rinehart-Bubs {streight pipe look}or look on web.sites for dyno's of which mufflers are proven to make the best power/torgue.You have about 6 really good choices,You should only look at top brands,Remenber {Ol Yeller}?Yellow after 2000 mi.OH.Most are offered in Black ceramic too.But not Rineharts

Where are all the black pipes found? Been looking for set for Night Train that are not 2 into 1. Sound inportant but performance first so crossover preferred. Love Paul Yaffe's SuperTrapp X pipes, but I NEED my bags for work.

You can buy black SE II slip ons and modify the baffles and head pipe for better sound performance.
csoday.... FYI: believe it or not, a good 2 into 2 pipe will out perform a 2 into 1 on some builds. My exact build with my modified 2 into 2 vs. another guy w/ a Thunderheader and all other components exact...same shop did both builds and dyno.....mine kicked @$$ on the dyno by a lot. It totally surprised me, but I saw the comparison in the computer of mine vs. his because I was thinking about a Thunderheader and my wrench said no and showed me why.

Thanks for all, guys.
I'll install Double SE and 95 big bore to have power.
In France we can't have the choice about exhaust : for exemple SE is forbidden; i should going to belgium to order SE.
Thanks a lot.

If you are looking for a system in black ceramic coating check out, rbracing-rsr.com. Note that if you do order from them that it takes 2 - 3 times longer to receive your system than what they state.

The one and only person I know who ordered from RB Racing had to wait 9 months for his pipes. Also, at the end of the pipe their nameplate is riveted on. I'll pass.

well in about 1-2 weeks i will be able to tell you about rbracing 2into1 for fit, finish, sound and power and yes if you decide to buy from rb plan on a long wait, fortunately i was in no hurry. the shop i went thru ordered my pipes in june and they finally arrived at the shop a week ago after numerous phone calls and a very stern fax. i think with some diligence you can get them alot faster.
riveted plate or having the name stamped in the pipe like most do, i think i would rather have a rivet that i can get rid of if i feel the need.
