TonyJ wants to know Dino or Syn?
Got my RB Pipe yesterday

My RB 124 Challange pipe came in the mail yesterday. Man is it a beautiful pipe, BUT it does not fit.

The front pipe makes contact with the large S&S cam cover. (When I ordered it I did state it had this cam cover so we could avoid this problem)

I sent them an email with these picts and they said I would have to "space" the pipe out.
I imagine the "spacer" will be a thicker billet exhaust gaskets, thus allowing the pipe to sit a little lower from the head, changing the path of the pipe just enough to miss the cover.

Has this happened to anyone else, and have you "spaced" your pipe out? Did everything work ok after that? I kind of feel they should have bent the pipe correctly and this is just a bandaide on a $800 pipe.

What is your experience with this?

keep us posted. They state on their website that if you are running the S&S timing cover that the pipe will have to be ordered that way. Just got my pipe last week from them...BEAUTIFUL

Every time I see this kind of stuff about RB, I just reach down and pet my dog. I love their pipes but detest their attitude.

That sounds like people on Amazon... complaining about a product because they didn't read the description.

So, after waiting 6 months for RB to make the correct pipe...the pipe they admitted they did incorrectly, and after me calling them every 2 weeks to hear them say they are working on it, cant find it, its at the chromer, they don't know where its at.....after all that and 6 months they gave me back my money!
What a joke.. Their service sucks soo bad. 6 months to remake the front pipe and they cant do that!

I was going to buy 1 of thier pipes once. Got on the phone with them w/ credit card in hand. After talking to them about my build at the ime,I asked the guy about how long it would take. I said" just in general, nothing I'll be calling & crying about. Just a general scope of how long." He says" as long as it takes". I said ok go ahead & build the pipe & as soon as your done shove 1 end up your ass & blow in the other end! Click! Phone goes dead. 1K for a pipe & service like I should kiss your ass for the pleasure of spending my cash with you? Phuck you, I'll go to Home Depot's plumping department & build 1 before I run 1 from you, even if it's free!

OP states that he did tell the supplier he had the S&S cover. RB's mistake, not the OP's.
As far as what happened after?
Not surprising at all.
I'm glad the OP finally got a refund.

Your right. I did specify exactly what cam cover and they verified they were aware of it.

The worst part was the run around, one week its at the chrome, next week they don't know what Im talking about, next time they still have to build it..... it went on and on.
I do still have the rear pipe... cant do anything with it, except pay someone to build a front pipe.

I could never recommend RB to anyone. Unprofessional thru and thru.

That sucks. I didn't have a problem. Ordered from AFG and it was waiting for me when I got home 2 months later, with an unexpected 10% off. Did it all on line and never even talked to them.
