What is the best sounding exhaust?
I'm thinking about moving away from the V&H Shorties into a longer better sounding exhaust but not sure which kind/brand.
What is some of the better sounding exhaust for my 2000 HD Dyna Wide Glide?

V&H Pro-pipe
D&D Fatcat
Super trapp
Rinehart slip-ons
Fuel moto slip-ons
V&H Long shots/Big shots/Staggered
Ect.....
As you can see, each to his own liking. See what other people are running. Do you like the look and the sound? Ask what they are.
What's expensive is buying the wrong exhaust.

That's like asking what's your favorite song lol.
You'll need to try and hear a few and judge for yourself, what I like might not be what you like.

D&D all the way or Bassani. Both have amazing sound and no torque dips that plague all v&h pipes.

You first need to decide if you want 2-1 or 2-2. 2-1 is a better design for power for street motors, but some don't like the look.
And don't listen to anyone who says 'xxx is best sounding'. As stated, it's subjective. You could go to rallies, poker runs, dealers, any place where you can hear and see a variety. Most guys'll be happy to talk about their choices.

Pro pipe, best preforming and sounding, you get the best of both worlds.

I've always ran V&H on my last V-Twins, Non Harleys. I have heard the Basani and MSG true dual Pipes.. I really like the sound of those. The Rineharts souond nice as well. They say that the Jackpot 2/1/2 headpipes are the most power producing, with a set of rinehart slip ons. However, everything I've said above is fully subjective. Hope is helps..

It's not the exhaust that makes the sound, it's the motor. Pump it up to at least 10.5 and around a .600 lift cam with 250 degrees of duration, that will make most any solid performance exhaust sound good. I run a RB 2-1 and it sounds pretty cool with the above recipe.

Thank you.
Might I add 'How high is up'?
And Lil Fire Dog, most of the recommendations you're getting are 2-1 pipes. That's what I have, and recommend, too. But mine's not made any more-- White Brothers E-Pipe.
