Want to paint pipes.

I have 03 FXSTI with Sampson Biggun short slashers. I want to have some sort of high temp gloss black paint done. My question is can this be done? If so how.
Thanks

csoday will become famous soon enough
You can have the chrome removed and then black anodized applied

What you need to do is have them ceramic coated. Anything else will burn and turn to a flat black.

I know this isn't exactly in your area but Performance Coatings in Jonesboro, GA did some pipes for a Fatboy that belongs to a coworker of mine.

They ceramic coated them black & the finish has lasted very well. No turning colors or peeling .

their web site is www.headercoatings.com or their phone is 770-478-2775.

I have no affiliation with them other than they did a set of headers for my truck less than a week ago.

Hey Jethro

I painted mine last year and they came out great (I've got a show winning bike). I just sanded down the chrome so the paint would stick and went down to the local Auto-Zone and bought some high temp satin header paint. I baked the heat shields in the oven at 350 F for about an hour. The pipes them selves I didn't bake. It cost me $3.50 and I would highly recommend it.
