D&D true dual headers - why more money?

I have a set of Rinehart true duals on my 03 ulta and have decided to give up on them. They are too loud - at this point, my ears won't stop ringing - ever.

I have an old set of HD SE slip ons that I'm thinking of going back to but don't want the cross-over pipe (too much heat on the leg - I frequently get stuck in slow traffic) so I'm looking for a set of true dual header pipes that will accept the 1.75" slip ons. Choices I've found include V&H, Cobra and D&D. The first two are around $300-$400 but the D&Ds are $500-$600.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge to suggest why I would want to pay the extra bucks for the D&Ds?

Thanks for the help,

Brad

you pays your money and takes your choices. As in most things HD, it costs over a Hundred Dollars.

Brad:

I've been extremely satisfied with the Kuryakyn Tru Dual headers I installed ~year ago!

Thanks wvrdking. I assume the header pipes are 1 -3/4" on the end? This would be the same as the stock headers.

Hey....I did the 08 Brembo Conversion as well. Wow, what a difference in the braking!

My V&H have been good to me and no torque dip! I'm told the 1.75 primary tube is the ideal size for all but the big bore monsters.

I am using the Rush true duals on my 07 Road King. They are great pipes, I highly recommend them.

Thumbs up

The D&D's are made of a heavier gauge pipe and use a bracket not a clamp to secure the front pipe to the transmission. The starter bracket is also heavier than others.
