V&H Pro pipe
I know "the best 2 into 1" pipe has been debated ad-nausium, but I fund a set of chrome V&H Pro pipes for what I think is a great price ($125.00). They are used of course. The pictures look like the pipes are in excellent condition, and I am going to look at them tomorrow. I have always wanted to try a 2 into 1, but never wanted to pay the price for new ones. I talked to the guy today and he said he had them on for around 2000 miles. If they look as good in person as they do in the pics, I would probably buy them. I already have the FuelPak to tune the bike to them with.
Here's my questions. I would like honest opinions from folks who ACTUALLY have/had them installed. Did you like the sound? Are they loud? Did you feel like the performance improved? Any help would be appreciated.
Please don't waste my/your time telling me that D&D or Thunderheader, etc are better pipes. I just want to know about these pipes.
2006 Softail Standard, stock motor, high flow A/C.

I replaced a set of Big Radius with the PP a couple of months ago. No regrets. Not as loud as the BR but definitely has a deeper richer rumble at idle and barks real nice on the gas. Better seat of the pants off the line than the BR. Feels real good down low. I replaced the cheesy stock baffle packing with some fiberglass cloth and she runs like a champ. IMO, V&H fit and finish are second to none. No complaints here. At a buck 25 you can't go wrong.

I've had the ProPipe on my Deuce for 2 1/2 years. A very definite increase in the butt dyno. I had it put on a dyno and it ran even nicer. I like the sound of the PP. It's not as loud as the V&H Big Shots that were on the bike. You can play with the baffle and packing a bit to alter the sound if you want to.
If you want LOUD, try starting it with the baffle pulled out. LOL
Sounds cool, but WAY too loud for my taste.

Well, I did it. I bought them. Found them here Linky. They appear almost brand new. I can hardly wait to toss them on the bike. Now I think I am coming down with a cold *cough* *cough*. I may have to leave work early.............
Almost forgot.....Thanks for the replies!

YES! Great sound, look good, and the low end torque seems to have improved according to my butt dyno. Nice low rumble at idle, and not obnoxious at street or highway speeds. Oddly enough, about the time I finished bolting them up, the cold seemed to go away! Must be a new 2 hr bug going around.

It's the 'HOG flu'. I've had it a few times.
Just for grins and giggles, try taking the baffle piece out for a couple of minutes.

Wow,$125.00,I would have had to get the flu myself, wouldn't be doing the boss any good, all that would be on my mind is the scooter..A friend of mine has a PP on his Deuce,w/ a 95" Mackie kit.
101/100 on the dyno, and has a sound all it's own.Congrats on your find.

Propipe is a nice pipe. If you want a bit more low end tq, you can try putting hose clamps over 2 rows of holes in the baffles. Doing that and pulling the fiberglass out will sound about the same, but bring power on sooner of wanted.

TXChop is correct. I forgot to mention that. I tried the hose clamp thing and did notice a slight increase in low end performance. Who knows, maybe it's the old 'getting what you expect to get' syndrome.
But, either way, it feels good. I do have to say that pulling the fiberglass out made it louder, even with the two rows of holes covered.

Maybe someday I will mess with the baffle, but for now I think I will enjoy it just like it is.
Now......on to the REAL reason I changed the pipes. It's because claydbal hates shortshots, and loves 2 into 1's. I always listen to my elders!

I have it on a 103ci & it brought my numbers up vs the v&h true dual with rhineharts. The pipes probably more than what I need but my plans are to build a larger ci down the road.Very nice sound & hits hard down low.

I'm coming in late here but I had them on my Sporty when I had one and the performance was kickass. Didn't hurt that I did some other stuff too. They cost me $450 new. When I got my FXDX I went with DD Fatcat because that was the pipe du jour in the forum. Not disappointed. I like the sound better with the DD quiet baffle but it is a different engine.
Since you live in Greensboro, PM me sometime and we can go for a ride.
