Rinehart and Bub got a Divorce
Looks like Rinehart could not close a deal with Bub to make their pipes. I hear the contract was up, Bub wouldn't pay the big dollars Rinehart wanted. Looks like Rinehart contracted with Clearline to make their pipes.... I hope the quality doesn't take a hit. Plus, it looks like Bub offers the same pipes, except for the cosmetics... I like their touring duals, but wonder if it'll be the same pipes.

well me too cause if it gets worse they are in the sh*t house.
here is a run down on my pipes the last two years.
rh/td
first the black end caps turned gold and purplish they warrantied them (said they had a few bad lots) so I paid 4 extra dollars and got chrome end caps cant turn colors right. well within 6 months the chrome end caps pitted and peeled (chrome) they warranited them and said ....a few bad lots of chrome plating. 12 more months and I am waiting for another set same thing chrome pitted and peeling....a few bad lots they say again. LOL
Rear head pipe cracked at about 8 months in also, guess what....a few bad lots of rear head pipes they said.
love the sound but am going another route now!

Rinehart got very expensive in the past few years.............maybe they killed themselves.
I'm sure the new Bub systems are built very similar to the Rinehart designs, and a lot cheaper as well.

Hey Stroker, Damn... sounds like clearline has a slam dunk ahead of them regarding quality! LOL. That sucks.... Cracked head pipe!!! Was it bad material? What direction you taking? I'm gonna drop a load on a 10 limited and want to do it right. I like the stuff you did with your ride and want to take advantage of lessons learned.

I have the Bub "7" 2 into 1 pipe and love it. It gave me my low end back and yet still pulls in the higher RPMs. Sounds great too.

Clearline is a polishing outfit that is branching into exhaust manufacturing, could be good ,could be bad, we shall see.

Yup, heard from Drag specialties that they arent stocking them anymore either.
I think they took a hit when hd changed exhaust design in 08 as well.

I bought a fatcat from rigidthumper (don't tell Dennis)
the Rinehart head pipe cracked right in the middle about two inches back from the flange. In all honesty it could have been a bad lot. I have heard of some others having the same thing happen. the cracked head pipe was when the motor was a stage 1 96.but after every warranty problem being blamed on bad lots it's a little tiring!
those limited's sound like a big bang for the buck ( WELL THEY ALL ARE BIG BUCKS) as well as looking good also. If I was in the market for a new ride thats were I would start
edit : cracked head pipe was at 26950 miles and have close to 50,000 now with no further incidents
