D&D Fatcat Question

I hope this doesn't come across as a stupid question..but here goes.As we speak I'm installing a new 2-1 D&D Fatcat exhaust on my 03 Electra Glide. My question is does the header pipe mount tab at the transmission go on top of the tranny mount or below. The directions make no mention of this little detail. It's probably not a big deal either way,but I'd like to hear what you who have this system on their glides, have done.I thank you in advance for your replies.

This is not a clamp. The header pipe has a tab welded on it that bolts to the trans mount.I have this tab bolted to the underside of the trans mount.Everything looks lined up.I'm probably being a little too fussy.

The tab on the header goes on the bottom of the mounting tab under the tranny. With that done right, you will also use the spacers under the saddlebag to drop the muffler in line.

I didn't use the spacers on my bike. Can't remember top or bottom on the tab. I let the header pipe fit like it wanted to to the motor, then went from there.

Pike, my first fatcat was like yours. Wanted to be on top. After that broke, my second one came in and it had to be on the bottom. My boarzilla is on the bottom and needed 2 washed to make up the difference.

FWIW, Leonard say that tab HAs to be under the bracket.

On my 07 it replaced the existing bracket on the bottom it is just different enough to make it work, also there are two large spacers to move the riders right side footboard out about a half inch, initially I did not use it (directions are terrible I mentioned that to D&D when I called tech support) without the spacers on the footboard I had awful vibrations from the pipe contacting the floorboard I had to make two calls to D&D tech support the first was over the bracket I kept thinking it went on top of the tranny no there is no required support on top it replaces the existing one,if you compare them side by side you can see the diff. On the plus side tech support for D&D was good both times got them with allmost no wait..Tom..

Thanks for those replys guys.It appears I got it right first time. With the tab mounted on the bottom, everything lines up nice,no need for any spacers. The directions could have been a little more detailed.I want to comment on the excellent fit and finish on the D&D,very pleased, sounds excellent as well.As luck would have it HDMD88 is on Vancouver Island for a tuning seminar and he'll be putting the masters touch to the tune.(TTS)Thanks again.
