I rode a Porn star Bassani Road Rage

A few people have asked for thoughts on my recent change to a Bassani Road Rage from my favorite Rinehart TD's.

First: The Rineharts are smooth. Like dating miss universe. Classy, clean and brings a smile when you jump on it. But you can take her home to meet Mom

The Bassani's are like dating a porn star. Naked and just the thought of what lies ahead brings a smile. These are the pipes your friends wish their wives would let them play with.

I avoided the Black. Easily scuffed and feedback indicated extremely hot on your leg. Silver was sweet and has a deep throaty (think Linda Lovelace) quality. Not raspy but with a growl.

D&D fatcat quiets where the nicest build quality I ever saw on a 2:1. But to restrictive with R&R hi flow heads (IMO)

Bassani is not as sexy as the D&D but the standard baffle is awesome and the have Ommphh to spare.

In an efort to define the elusive difference in low end torque between a True Dual and a 2:1 I will relay this.

Last evening after I made my move on the porn star (picked up & R&R motors after being referred to me by Reggie, The KING of cubes and Art (the man). I raced home for a midnight mounting session. Done around 1:00 am and too late to kick it over save I upset the neighbors with the noise I had to wait for a morning session.

As i wheeled my bike (2007 117" R&R FLTR) out of the garage I pointed it at the ramp of my trialer for it journey to R&R for a dyno tune. Having lived with Miss Universe for some time I expected my approach would be with the standard foreplay a twist and brake. Aggghhh but I forgot about the elusive low end torque and when I applied my technique to the porn star I found myself racing forward rounding the bases like Jacoby Ellsbury with a case of the runs.

I now understand the term "low end torque". I almost catapulted the trailer and had flashes of my bringing the bike to R&R with the front tire buried in my car rear windshield.

Whoa baby... Magaret Thacther on a cold morning. I had to slow the pace or it was all over. Remounted at a steady pace and made the trip to R&R smiling at what awaits me when I get back from my busines trip and she has been given medical clearance to conitinue playing.

Bassani Road Rage.... Thanks to the R&R team who continued to tell me that one day I should try them out. It is worth the disapproving looks of your neighbors and the car alarm symphony I am sure will follow me from this day forward.

No chart needed. Mount a porn star today your only young once.

I have to go take a cold shower.

I know what you mean. I have riden the 120" demo bike at Hyperformance (King of Cubes), which is equipped with Bassani Road Rages. Twist the throttle on that bike and you better hold on tight and hope for the best. The end result is a smile from ear to ear, eyes as big as saucers, arms an inch longer and a sore @ss from all the puckering up. I feel sorry for the rubber motor mounts on that bike...

Can't exactly remember, but I think the specs on that bike are:
120"
11.7 to 1 compression
r&r 620 cam
r&r heads
s&s carb

I love the Road rage as well. Like the sounds and power delivery anyway. Dont buy a black one though.

Don't put one on a Low Rider. Head pipe hits before anything else. WTF?!

Just so happens my customer with the black Roadrage came by today. Here is a pipe 14 months old with 6880 miles on it...Kinda disappointing. Yes the bike is properly tuned and garage kept.

Chris I like you went from TD's to the Porn Star on my 117" and does she perform! Very noticable difference in low end torque. A great bite to go along with a mean growl. Had mine ceramic coated and haven't notice any heat difference from the TD's.

Good luck.
Dave

drg, can you get a close-up pic of the cam chest area, to show how the RR clears the R&R external cam cover?

Dave

Are those heat shields or the ceramic coat? I have been debating getting the shields

They are heat shields over the coated head pipes. The finish of the ceramic coating is more like a polished aluminum.
