2010 Road/Street Glide 2-into-1 pipe replacement options...

One dealer told me that the Screaming Eagle Nightstick (a Supertrapp design) with an SE air cleaner and basic download would give me a nice bump in throttle response and low end torque without having to go to the expense of a tuner and dyno tuning. (Saving what, $500-600?). Not a bad idea, really. Economical anyway.

My new 2010 Road Glide really needs an improved throttle response and bump in low end torque... throttle response seems so "dulled down" in stock form compared to what I know it could be!

The SE Nightstick approach sounds good, except if I decide to go with complete head to tail pipes in the future (to ditch the catalytic converters) I'd be starting all over again pipe wise. Dang it. Hmmmmmmm.

What are your thoughts?

Nightstick works very well, you can also order a 'tuning kit' from you dealer or SuperTrapp for 70 bucks that really opens that thing up.
It is very suprising, testing with the cat in place does not rob nearly as much as you would think, it does kill sound however.

JTW... can you describe the differences I would feel and hear with the nightstick/SE A/C combination on an otherwise stock 2010 Road Glide? Would it be well worth the investment?

Better throttle response, stronger bottom mid pull mostly with more on top as well.
Well worth the money and it's still 'legal' and no question on warranty issues.

Sounds good. The other option I'm considering is D&D 2-into-1 full exhaust (including head pipes) with a freer breathing A/C of some sort (recommendations?) With this set-up, can I go without a tuner? (I think D&D says a tuner isn't needed... not sure) Perhaps just a flash download of some sort? This approach will be about $350 higher in cost, but perhaps worth it? And these pipes can remain on the bike if/when I decide to go with a 103.

What are your thoughts comparing these two approaches?

Stock headpipes work very well with a 103.

Personally, I'd save the money and do the Slip-Ons.

OK.... the D&D slip on? Or Nightstick?

Cost aside, isn't eliminating the cats basically a good thing, slightly better flow and reduced heat?

As a SuperTrapp employee, I think it's pretty obvious what I think?

Cat removal, depends on where your at and local laws.
