Supertrapp question - how many discs? where?

Hpoing someone may be able to explain to me how to "tune" a supertrapp exhaust with all those discs?? How do you determine how many to use and where to put them? (front or back or middle of muffler?)

I like the ST supermeg 2:1.... but dont want to screw it up with the discs.

In general I figure there is enough to tune on a bike already so I run mine with 20 discs closed cap, but you haven't provided any info; what bike, what mods, fi or carb, you want quiet low end torque or more sound upper end power?

And more importantly................don't over-tighten the screws holding the discs on. You just want to snug them up, don't compress them at all.............there needs to be space between them to breathe.

well you can only put them on the end of the mffler. Number one mistake people make with the Supertrapp is not taking the time to actually tune them. every bike is different. To really tune it you need an experienced tuner who is familar with the Supertrapp. If you want quiet as possible use closed end cap. if you like a lilttle louder use open end cap and go from there.

There is the key...you tune to your build....

I run 18 discs and the closed end cap.

The best 'tuners' in the world can't help you without knowing what bike you have and if there are any other modifications?

What are you refering to when you say, you don't know where to put them?

I would probably start out at 18 disc with your closed end cap. If your not gonna take the bike to be dyno'ed then you will need to take the bike for a few rides and see how the bike "feels". Remember the more disc the more air flow and less bottom end.

Mine is in my signature below.

At this time, we do not offer a 2:1 for the 2010 model Road King.
Only the slip-ons, 9 different slip-ons, the Fat Shots are the best performers, if you went that route, start with 8-9 disc on each side.

Bummer, that was my pipe choice. Are you planning on making the 2:1 supermeg for the 2010 RK sometime soon?
