Samson did me right!

I have a good news story to share.

My suspicions that I had an exhaust leak were confirmed when I found a crack in the rear header pipe. After pulling the header off and removing the heat shields the crack was much worst that I originally thought and too big for me to be comfortable with getting it wielded. The O2 sensor port was cracked half way around the wield and then it spiraled off around the pipe traveling up towards the flange.

The pipes were a year and 3 months old and yes they came with a 1 year warrantee. I called Samson and they said that they would take care of it even though the pipes were over a year old, however they only work directly with the distributor.

I had ordered the pipes through Zanotti Motor Co. from the Drag Specialties catalog. I e-mailed Zanotti's as they only take calls from 12-2 pm. They replied within 2 hours telling me that they had contacted Samson and provided them with a copy of the invoice and that Samson would be getting in touch with me.

The following morning Samson called me to let me know that Zanotti's had provided what they needed and that my replacement header pipe would be shipped that day, all at no cost to me.

It is easy to jump on the keyboard and complain when we get poor service, but these companies both deserve a good word after they way they handled this issue.

I guess the starts were lined up for me this week.
