Vance & Hines Ovals Rattling

I have had the Vance and Hines Oval mufflers (16727) for a few years and they have started rattling something awful. It was so bad I had to take the mufflers off. Has anyone else had this trouble? Is there any way to fix them. I like them and would like to have another set, but I do not want to put another $430 or so into a new set.

I've been a V&H customer for years and have never had issues. Have you contacted them?

New "improved design" baffles are availble to fix that problem. 130.00 for the set. IIRC.

Sometime you can pull the baffles and squish them down a bit to stop the rattle.

V+H only covers them under warranty for 6 months though.

Thanks. I guess I will wait a while and buy a new set later. I hate to put $130 in old mufflers. The outsides are scratched a little so I will just get a new set later. I might try and give them a call and see what they say.

Very little, except to ask for your credit card number.
At least that was my experience.
The new baffles also got rid of the higher pitched note at 85-90.
Stereo doesn't need to be pegged now.

hi everybody.
where I can buy V&H Oval in US to be delivered in Italy?
I'm not able to find anyone that send outside US and I want to buy them in US because they're cheaper than bought in Italy

I had bought a set of used ones and the rattled bad.The po had cut the baffles short to increse the sound.
When I removed the baffles to replace them,I did notice a lot of rust.
I installed new baffles which fixed the rattle.
I ran them for about another 2000 miles(went with a 2/1) and when removed there was a lot of rust again.

Since you did not modify yours,I would remove the baffles and check for rust and cracks.
I think the replacements are about $55 each.
