I finally got my new mufflers installed

It took most of the afternoon, but yesterday I installed my new Rush 1.75" slip ons, SE breathing kit, and PCV, which was preprogrammed for my '09 Ultra. The new mufflers have a deep, rich tone...not too loud, but definately louder than the stock ones.

I noticed that when I deccelerate, with the clutch still engaged, I hear a very slight, occassional suttle popping - NOT the old school bus backfiring. I noticed on a weekend trip a couple of weeks ago, when I was behind other HD's with aftermarket pipes/mufflers, I heard the same thing out of their bikes. Is some of this normal? I am thinking it probably did this with the stock pipes, but they were quiet enought I never really noticed it.

if that PC5 is the autotune, have some patience. if not, then you need to make an appointment with a good tuner.

That's what I'm running on mine, with the SE Ventilator air filter if you saw my post.
I had no popping whatsoever with just the slip-ons on, but the dealer told me I must have been lucky. I added on the air filter today along with the PCV. Yes, very minor popping now. Plus my RPMs dropped 300. Did yours?

please explain rpm dropped 300. it cant be at cruise, so it must be at idle. address that imediately!!!!!!!!! you need to idle at minimum 1000 rpm or pay the piper for damages from low oil pressure!!!!!

danger, danger will robinson.

I did not have any rpm drop. at idle, it is right around 1,000, right where it was when everything was stock.

Wow, thanks for the heads up, Clay. And thanks for the report on your bike John.
My bike always idled at 1200, which I thought was high, but now it's 900. I will post something up and see about getting a new map tonight or tomorrow. I suppose that means I'll have to throw that disc in my laptop tonight (lol).

Thanks again.

I hope you like loud. Nice sounding pipes, but I had to get rid of the 2 1/4's because they were a bit too loud. I ran Rush slip-ons for over a year. Great pipes.
