1 3/4'' or 2'' head pipes

I have a 98 road king with 89'' stroker crank, SS heads, S&S 561 cam(250's duration,560 lift),& 42mm mikuni carb. I'm going to buy cycle shack's ''m'' pipes. Should I get the 1 3/4'' head pipe or the step tunned 2'' head pipe? NO MORE SLIP ON!!

3.5" x 4.625"? thats a LONG stroke... still only 89", so 1.75" headers will be more than plenty...

I can tell you that the 1 3/4 tapered "M" pipes without baffel works great with my 07 dyna 103/ w575 cam, Baisley hyper-stock heads. That pipe will kick in about 3500rpm on my bike and set-up, love it.

That's a little late in the RPM range. If I leave the baffle in, think they will come on sooner?

Yes. Little to no tq dip, with a really nice curve but starts to dip at about 5000 rpm. Better top end, bigger numbers over all with the baffel removed and still good bottom end, but better mid range power running with baffel at about 3-4000 rpm.

No expert, but, the 1 3/4 and 2 inch TAPERED "M" pipe are best, been used as drag pipes for years and scavenge (come on) best in the upper rpm band, when used as drag pipe without baffel.
