Reversing Baffles

I have the Bassani slip-on bagger mufflers..
They have the 2 1/2 baffles..
The louvers in the baffles are open to the back of the muffler, the open part of the louver points towards the back (outlet) of the muffler.. thus providing little if any backpressure..

I know it can be done but what difference would it make if any to reverse the baffles so that the louvers face the inlet of the muffler..

It should provide some backpressure and will most likely change the tone of the sound....

Most (if not all) baffles of that type are the same way. My D&D Fatcat has same thing. Not sure why. I bet some engineer has worked it out and decided that way is best. But I'm with you...seems backwards to me.
