SE End Caps

I just picked up a set of new SE Performance #65116-98A slip ons for my Springer and now need end caps, I was just wanting to know if the sound of the mufflers is effected by the style of end cap one chooses. Any thoughts?

Dave, Ive got a brand new pair of fishtails that fit your bike stored away, They aren't as loud as Howitzers but have a more mellow sound and look awesome on a Springer, $55.00 + shipping for the pair.

I have the B slip-on ommy '03 Ultra.

I have two sets of end caps; Double grooved and fish tails.

Double grooves are loude and have a higher pitch -- like clapcking/tinny

Th tails have a lower rumble sound, but scream on hard acceleration -- not too tinny sounding

If I want to be noticed and a pain in the ASH, I slip on the groove. Otherwise, I use the tails.

Change is easy, about 10 minutes total.

Shiny side up!

I take it that these end caps are held on by screws or some type of fastener is this correct? Do these fasteners come with the pipes or with the end caps?

New Mufflers always have them installed as they secure the removable baffle, They are easily replaced with Stainless button head screws.

Hey thanks for the offers guys I will wait till my pipes get here, I bought them on ebay and are said to be new but want to see with my own eyes before spending money on end caps. Just poking around on ebay I see there is 2 different sized end caps available anybody know what size the ones that fit #65116-98A slip ons are? From what I can tell p/n 65245-92 fishtail slip ons are suppose to fit.
Thanks, George
