I had a bike briefly with an active exhaust installed, 05 EG, bike ran good sometimes and spit and sputtered the rest of the time, I removed the system prior to resale, I still have the left control pipe and module stashed away some where. The left pipe utilizes an ECM controlled valve which when in the open position is basically a straight pipe, The local dealers I checked with had no clue how to check the system back then, being the bike was out of warranty, It was much easier to remove then attempt to tune, so I really cant give an accurate assessment. The Sound when under power was louder then stock.

The system is very similar to the HDI exhaust system used in 2007-up Euro stock bikes. Ran the HDI system with SE mufflers in active and inactive configuration without any measurable difference. The older active performance exhaust has a history of problems with the EFI calibration and the control strategy for the actuator itself.

I wouldn't touch it.
