Doh!!! Why did I do that! Supertrapp misery

Hi Guys,

Well its friday the 13th here in New Zealand and I have a small dilemma,
I was tightening one of the rear support bracket bolts that hold my Supertrapp pipe to my bike (FXDWG) and it snapped, (its one of two bolts located underneath the main supertrapp pipe at the rear that thread down through the pipe bracket then through the black support bracket)

My questions are: what would be the best way to fix this? I'm not sure these bolts are available? (actually its a little plate with a threaded peice on it)or should I just use another bolt and a washer?

And can I unbolt the last remaining bolt and the main clamp at the collector end and remove the end pipe?to fit the new bolt?.

Any advice would be appreciated

Regards

Tobycat

You may have to remove your muffler, but you should be able to remove the bolt from the plate and replace it.

I've found Supertrapp's customer service to be excellent. If you are unable to remove the bolt, which I think you'll be able to do, give them a try... My Supermeg, for my Sportster, was missing the install bracket; They sent another, no charge.

I've emailed them a couple days ago about a problem and haven't heard anything back yet. I'm not so sure about customer service.

I have not broken one but I would think a carriage bolt might do the job if you can not get a replacment. You may need to cut it down some.
