Question fresh motor on 97 ultra

i have a 97 ultra with 40,000 on it ..when needed i have a new 97 evo with 1700 miles in it to swap,,,,there seems to be a problem ..there is no hole in the block for the crank sensor ..so the stories that an evo is a evo all will fit all models is not true ..or am i missing something here???????

You pretty much proved that a EFI Evo is is own creature, no CPS hole also means no notched flywheel.
It's change to carb for your replacement engine or persue a EFI engine, sounds like rebuilding yours will be an option.

I would say that with only 40,000 miles in 11 years that the engine you have will probably last another 22 years before needing to be freshened up. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!
