VOES Help

Carb pharts probably blew out my VOES switch so I went to HD to get another one and it was $78.00 w/tax and not in stock. Why does this cheap ass looking part cost 78 bucks? I found another part number and was wondering what the difference could be....

26555-94 For 94 thru 98 FLT. This is the one I need but costs $78
26558-84 For 86 thru 89 FLT. This one goes for $40.

They look almost the same except for the new style connector. Does anyone know if the vacuum setting is different?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Drag Specialties, which can be ordered thru a local indy, has Voes available.
you would need to know how many inches of vacumn you need, since they don't have the exact replacement. They have 3 OE replacement, and custom switches in 3" 4" 5" 6"
If you can find the info, there is a way to adjust the VOES.. while I did save it ,
a past computer problem has erased it.

Here's a web site with a lot of info including adjusting one.

http://www.wildwestcycle.com/f_voes.html

You could also probably find quite a few more online by doing a search.

It always surprises me what you can find on Amazon.com. I ordered one with 6" (the highest I could find) for a total of $40. Then went to HD to cancel my other order they had for $78.

The http://www.wildwestcycle.com/f_voes.html site has some really good info. Now I know how to adjust it higher if I need it. Thanks Ed.

Thanks everybody for you comments.
