does anyone know where i can get a wiring diagram for the coil setup or why the bottom connection on my coil has 3 wires( red, blue, green) running to it and top only has 2 wires(white or tan with a blue stripe, red) and is that right or not?

Someone might have the information that you need, if they knew the model and year of the bike. Just sayin......

I'd get in touch with the coil mfg. They can give you any specifics.

Are you saying that the body of the coil itself has three low-voltage (small, threaded) terminals? If so, you have a single-fire coil, which is not compatible with your dual-fire ignition module. A dual-fire coil will have two, low-voltage wire connections while the single-fire coil has three.

Dual-fire:

Single-fire:

Or, are you looking for a diagram of where the single-fire coil wires go? There are actually 4 wires at the coil:

Blue wire connects to front cyclinder, Power from your kill switch on your handle bar controls goes to the middle of the coil and the other wire goes to the rear cyclinder. Thats according to my instructions from my Ultima/Dyna ignition instructions.

tall terry is reading this now saying WTF is this?
That diagram is for a single fire ignition
From memory, the coil has no + or -, just the right wires need to be connected to the right side of the coil.
On 1 side, a white wire from the right switch house, also a white wire from the (stock) ignition module
On the other side of the coil, a blue from the stock ignition module, and a pink to the tachometer, if the bike has 1.
This is all that's required on the primary wiring to run.

There will be 8 wires at the module connector
Red to sensor
Green to sensor
Black to sensor
Blue to ign coil
White to ign coil
Pink to tach
Purple to voes if no voes, ground this wire, for rule advance, leave loose for retarded timing (ground it)
Black to voes ground
The first 5 are necessary to run, the last 3 are not, make sure the pink is covered if no tach on bike
